Everyone isn’t fond of working but when passion is involved, you break mountains.

Being a gaming enthusiast for almost 19 years now and a passionate entrepreneur, everything got possible because of my best laptops for working and gaming collection.

In fact, I built a business out of my gaming videos and articles using these laptop models.

Now you may ask, working and gaming at the same? Yes, playing games is actually my job.

I stream a lot and record them.

Monetize that content on youtube and enjoy my payday at the end of each month.

You may be working on a different thing but the laptops for gaming and working do almost the same for all fields.

That’s why I am not going to pick some random laptops from my stock.

It’s a misconception among many people that videography is just shooting videos. Believe me, the editing part is the most hectic of all.

I am a videopreneur and photographer who is always looking for new laptops to improve my workflow. You can call it my hobby but upgraded gadgets increase my interest in work.

Whereas, I own two of the Acer Swift 3 models.

Specifically, this one is better than the previous one I got.

Matter of fact, this SF314-511-753K model has a variety of different features that don’t have in the SF314-42-R9YN.

Why I craved to buy it all because of exploring the Swift 3 laptop for video editing.

I searched for some models here and there online.

In the end, got something that looked promising.

Ordered it after doing some configuration research on it and this is what my Acer Swift 3 2nd laptop has.

Features and Specs:

RAM / ROM:

I hate stutters and the 16GB LPDDR4X is the best solution. Opening up more than tan 15 tabs alongside some video editing software in the background is no issue now.

Above ideal memory is what I always aim for. Whereas, it keeps things smooth especially the intense games are handled properly.

I can upgrade it to 32GB in the near future but right now I am happy with this one.

SSD / Hard drive / SSHD:

512 gigabytes of space is enormous for my editing software, video library, and some light games.

Shifting to hybrid isn’t required anymore because this SSD handles my data with smoothness.

The fast app loading time is the other benefit of having an SSD.

Processor / Graphics:

Iris Xe Graphics integrates on this machine for smooth video playbacks. Intel Core i7-1165G7 is the quad-core chip that grinds for higher clocking speeds.

Both together enhance productivity and the AAA games are played smoothly.

Testing the CPU to get the actual benchmark number was next and I did.

It touched a score of 1,561 on a single core and boosted up to 5,843 on GeekBench 5 when the multiple cores got involved.

Display / USB ports / Battery life / Wifi:

The display eliminates all the quality drawbacks found on other devices.

It’s a 1080P display having a 14-inch screen size and IPS panel. Other features like a 16:9 aspect ratio with Anti-glare technology have their advantages.

Breathing for 16 hours is a long-lasting backup it offers.

The Wi-Fi 6 AX201 is where it connects to the internet for networking.

Furthermore, the ports are of different varieties including the Thunderbolt 4. Whereas, the total USB ports are 3 in total for fast data reading and writing.

Conclusion:

I am not fond of cheap laptops to use for my work but the Acer Swift 3 changed everything.

Here, the stuttering and tearing are no more because they’re taken care of by the specs and features.

The benefit that I must prioritize is the long battery span because I don’t a charger once the laptop is fully charged.

Either way, I don’t look for the design of a laptop when my budget is low. Rather performance is what I prefer even if the laptop looks years old.

This laptop for working and gaming is the best in performance if you ask me. Plus the laptop can be secured using the fingerprint reader.

2. Acer Aspire 5: (Best laptop for working and gaming on a budget)

I love traveling!

It’s a process of meeting new people and knowing different cultures. Discovering new places is a compliment that traveling offers.

I remember that one time traveling abroad for my photography project.

I picked the laptop from my collection alongside my other photography gear.

Guess what? At the airport, I lost track of my laptop when after leaving it in the waiting areas for dinner.

This part of my life is called being stupid because I should have picked my laptop with me. Regret followed me for the rest of the day because of how reluctant I was.

Nothing else was on my mind but buying a laptop for my work was the only thing I was thinking about.

Went for a hunt and found my first Acer Aspire 5.

Not much was expected from this laptop besides getting just getting my photography project done.

Surprisingly, the device gave me more than I expected!

Getting 16 GB RAM on a laptop at a cheap price elevates the performance to top-notch on entry-level.

it’s from gen 4, which moves the needle for extravagant editing programs.

The nature of such random access memory forces the processor to receive data fast to read and write.

Processor / Graphics:

An AMD CPU chip called the Ryzen 3 is sported by my Aspire 5. Plus it’s a Quad-Core Mobile SoC (system on chip) for a next-level clocking speed.

Accompanied by the Vega 6 Mobile integrated Graphics my photo editing during the tour was as smooth as my lost laptop.

While I was a little defiant before buying this laptop, now I think the CPU chip and graphics paid the price.

SSD / Hard drive / SSHD:

512 GB SSD is all it’s got and it’s alongside a 16 GB RAM accompanies for faster system boot-up and program startups.

I took photos of some landscapes and animals on my camera, the data was huge but this storage managed it with pride.

Solid state drives get slack sometimes but not at the level of hard drives.

That’s why Instead of putting too much data into it, I didn’t put any harsh burden on it to avoid the stutter.

Display / USB ports / Battery Life / Wifi:

The display has its charm!

On this laptop, the display stands at 15.6-inch size with the features like an IPS panel.

1080P resolution popped up vibrant images and the higher refresh rate helped with stutter-free gaming.

The battery span wasn’t as good as Swift 3 but for 7 hours, it survived.

3 USB ports served me with a faster photo transfer to my laptop from my camera.

It networked with the internet using the 802.11ac Wi-Fi6.

Conclusion:

Losing a laptop is another thing but discovering the Acer Aspire 5 added worth to the incident.

I had the same level of experience with this laptop for work and playing some games during my tour was entertaining.

To anyone low on budget, allowing the Aspire 5 into your life is not a liability.

3. Dell XPS 15 OLED 9510: (Best laptop for gaming and video editing)

Photography and videography are not easy!

It’s not just going out there with a camera capturing some forest or animal pictures.

But there is always more to do. The editing of photos and videos to get those igniting results is hard than most people think.

I always hunt for laptops that are made for my work need. It’s not easy if someone does not have experience with laptops.

Not the case for me! because I have been a laptop picking pro for almost 19 years. I had heard of Dell XPS 15 OLED but never used actually used it before.

This was actually the time to buy this nice looking device and put it to the test on my own.

The options on the online store were many and the configurations differed for each Dell XPS 15 model based on the price.

Confused me at first in choosing the specs and features. But soon enough, I gave the Dell XPS 15 9510, one of the expensive options.

Features and specs:

RAM / ROM:

With a clocking speed of 3200MHz, this random access memory is from the 4th gen.

The memory is 32 GB, the perfect nightmare for multitasking.

Such high-profile RAM never backs down from receiving data from the CPU for reading and writing at a cruising speed.

Processor / Graphics:

I never go less than the 8 cores on a processing chip no matter what the price tag. My XPS 15 has the latest Core i7-11800H chip with a 24MB cache.

Assembling the RTX graphics sets a record of elevated video and photo editing.

Although, this may look like a laptop made for professional work. However, the processor and graphics card assembly unleash the power for 1080P gaming.

SSD / Hard drive / SSHD:

1 TB space is plenty for me. I have separate libraries for my photos and videos inside this solid state drive.

Boot-up time and software startup is instant with SSD.

Display / USB ports / Battery Life / Wifi:

Screen is bezel less which makes this 15.6-inch screen even wider.

It’s vibrant and glossy, allowing higher-level image delivery with 4k resolutions.

More features like an IPS panel, high refresh rate, low response time, etc make the display on my Dell XPS 15 OLED worth admiring.

Except for just a few ports, the XPS 15 isn’t USB port rich. However, the latest ones are what I have on the laptop.

It can breathe for 9 hours straight once the charge is full. Whereas, the 802.11ax Wi-Fi is used by the XPS for networking.

Conclusion:

A flagship for working and gaming is a win-win situation. The Dell XPS 15 OLED is no doubt expensive, yet, setting a level for photo and video editing is remarkable.

The laptop whops the skyrocketed performance for my games and work.

It’s slim in nature, looks like a futuristic device and the battery survives longer.

In my opinion, for anyone with a goal in mind, this laptop does miracles for working and gaming.

If your budget is low! get started with an affordable one.

But remove the gaming part from your mind first.

4. Acer Nitro 5: (Best laptop for working and gaming Under 1000)

During university, I was a part of many communities.

For most of the part, gaming is my thing so I was always involved in communities that organized different PC gaming events.

While I am also a videographer and my video editing skills were getting some hype.

So I used to film the whole gaming event if there were any.

After seeing the most powerful gaming system in uni, I was motivated to get a gaming laptop. Yes, I also needed one for my work.

I was looking for a laptop that can serve my video editing well and also play the games that I came to know during those events.

As a student, my budget was not that high.

Yet I managed it somehow and bought the Acer Nitro 5. It would be unfair to not rate this device as the best laptop for working and gaming under $1000.

This is the first Nitro 5 model I was introduced to.

Later on, I also got some other models of this same laptop. However, this one has its memories with me.

RAM / ROM:

I always can’t afford something excruciating on the performance side of a laptop. RAM adds a tremendous amount of multitasking edge to a laptop.

8GB RAM is mostly considered an ideal with memory.

Regardless, I got the 16 gigabytes of RAM on my Acer Nitro 5 because video editing is easy to handle with it.

I also made sure that the RAM is from the 4th generation.

Almost 25 tabs alongside some background programs were launched at once but no signs of a single stutter were found.

SSD / Hard drive / SSHD:

Based on my daily workload, tons of data stores in my Nitro 5 but it never complained.

The capacity is 1 TB and still am not halfway through. It feels like an unlimited storage capacity.

I have only 2 or 3 games on this laptop. Other than that, it’s all photos, videos, editing software, and my blogging stuff.

It’s just a capacity talk, I must admit that SSDs are fast. My laptop boots up in milliseconds alongside the fast program’s privileges.

It wasn’t in the case of HDDs that I used for years.

Processor / Graphics:

Dominated with RTX graphics alongside an intel chip with 8 cores, the performance hits the 9148 on Geekbench.

This means that my Nitro 5 gets outrageous when some demanding AAA game is thrown at it. Also, it satisfies my day-to-day job.

Display / USB ports / Battery Life / Wifi:

Not bragging much about my Acer Nitro 5 but the battery duration is long-lasting despite all these power eating components. 8 hours is touched with normal use.

The display is charming and wide enough for working.

For ultimate entertainment, you may need a wider screen beside it.

There are four 3.0 USB ports that boost up the data transfer between my laptop and other devices.

Whereas, an 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 connects my Nitro 5 to the world of the internet to inspire people with my gaming videos.

Conclusion:

It’s a misconception among many people that a gaming laptop can’t be used for video and photo editing.

Matter of fact, they do pretty well compared to normal laptops because they’re on graphics cards.

Apart from elevating my video and photo editing, my gaming journey with the Nitro 5 is unforgettable.

Although I purely bought this for my work.

5. Dell XPS 17 9710: (Best laptop for gaming and business)

Being a videographer and gaming streamer on twitch, I have an everlasting fantasy of visiting forests and deserts.

Besides fulfilling my fantasy, I also shoot some nice pictures of them.

Edit them and I am good to go to upload them on the internet to make living out of it.

I take some videos video shots of wild animals and the wilderness as a whole, add some effects to it and sell them out.

A few months ago I and my fellow photographer planned to visit Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Besides all videography and photography gear, I had a laptop.

However, it was not the best one for my laptop family.

Of course, the other Dell XPS models were there with me but they kinda felt old.

For my trip, I decided to get on with the Dell XPS 17 9710 which was on my radar for a very long time.

Despite the fact that it was hard to carry around, I ordered it anyway. My first impression of this laptop for work and gaming got me gazing at this beauty.

The Dell XPS 17 actually paid the price although the price tag is touching the roof.

the laptop is immense in memory, a 64 GB of RAM is what it offered my video and photo editing job.

Its high bandwidth can corner any task. I was curious to know the exact speed and jumped straight for a test.

I opened 30 – 35 Chrome tabs and at the same launched an online streaming server and video editing software. Alongside that, I also ran some other programs.

Used it this way for an hour and the didn’t flutter once.

Processor / Graphics:

Made for harsh graphics work, the XPS 17 is on RTX 3050 graphics alongside the latest intel i7 chip.

They are accompanied on my laptop to shut down the hassle and get the job done in no time.

It may look like a laptop that is only used for work.

However, it’s not the case, the configurations are excellent enough to open doors for graphics intense gaming.

For most of the part, its CPU and GPU are responsible for such blazing fast speed.

SSD / Hard drive / SSHD:

I know the frustration of less storage on a laptop. Especially, when I try to install my favorite game and all of a sudden, the installation stops.

The Dell XPS solves it with a 1 terabyte of SSD.

It’s fast and convenient, holding onto a big storage space.

Display / USB ports / Battery Life / Design:

Don’t wrong the design, it may not have all the gaming ergonomics. But it’s one of the decent looking laptops that I have for working and gaming.

Everything is organized and charming.

The wider 17-inch display with the 4k resolution eliminates the need for an extra screen. I split it sometimes to reduce my working time.

Because moving from tab to tab is hard work that I don’t want to do sometime.

It’s glossy and delivers the ultimate quality of images because of other enhanced features used in it.

It also solved my low battery issue with the 11 hours of battery span. Whereas, the 4 latest USB ports are on the XPS 17 for better data transfer speeds.

Conclusion:

As a videographer and involved in many other businesses, I needed something that can move the needle for me.

Dell XPS 17 actually did it.

With unlimited memory capacity and fast graphics sitting inside it gives me a boomy gloomy experience in my work and games.

Downsides like less portability and high-end price point must not be ignored.

If you can compromise on these two things, the Dell XPS 17 screams performance for almost anything you do.

6. ASUS ROG G14: (Best laptops for gaming and streaming)

Me, gaming and videography have a long lasting relationship.

Plus I never keep myself deprived of the fastest laptops. While my job is to keep grinding on the video and photo editing side.

A few years back, the ROG Zephyrus G14 was introduced to me by one of my colleagues during my video editing job.

A long story short, I got my hands on it to see the luxuries of it on my own.

The G14 was on a graphics card that actually lighted a bulb in my brain to use it for working and gaming sometimes.

Whatever the case was, the moment it arrived, I started playing around with it.

This is my experience as a whole!

Features and specs:

RAM / ROM:

One way or another I never go below 16 GB RAM to avoid the lag. The G14 is also up for this much memory.

It knocks down some brutal apps stutter-free.

I sometimes listen to music on Spotify when working on many browser tabs. My 16 GB RAM never backs down in crushing such a load.

SSD / Hard drive / SSHD:

1 TB of capacity on my laptop is never filling no matter how many video or photo libraries I create.

Plus the 1,260.45 MBps on this SSD is a tremendous value addition to the processing of data faster for extensive tasks.

Processor / Graphics:

If it was not for the graphics the G14 was completely useless to me.

With the NVIDIA GeForce RTX2060 Max-Q that integrates a 6GB GDDR6 VRAM, my gaming and video needs are fulfilled.

That’s because of wider memory coverage. While the actual RAM of my laptop is saved for other tasks.

The housing of the Ryzen 9 4900HS chip leaves behind the intel i7 chips with its whopping 4.3 GHz speed.

I don’t fall for normal laptops because they fulfill the cause.

Zephyrus G14 feels like it is on steroids because after moving from cheaper to a powerful flagship, this is the feeling everyone gets.

My workflow evolved in a matter of weeks.

The creativity boost I achieved has no limits. That’s because my G14 is extravagant and spits performance on a whole new level.

7. Zenbook Pro 14 Duo: (Best laptop for gaming and programming)

Although I have changed my software engineering fields and working as an entrepreneur.

But I have spent 3 years building apps and developing websites. Two of the apps that I developed years ago were all built using my Zenbook Pro 14 Duo.

Programming is not easy and to avoid getting mentally sick, I shifted to videography and photography.

However, it actually gave me an experience with the Zenbook Pro 14 Duo to talk about today.

Not every laptop is capable of handling the programming. The cheap ones lack in one way or another.

Some of the models that I used were not even able to cope with the android studio because of the hardware drawbacks.

Talking about Pro 14 Duo is no cap, I am purely going to talk about my experience with it.

Besides the futuristic aesthetics that had me on the first impression, this laptop guides my blend of thoughts.

Intel Core i7-12700H from 12th gen and integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics leads it to an upper-class processor speed.

Such CPU and graphics are propitious for programming and mid-level gaming.

32Gb RAM promises the fastness of the system for the rendering of apps on the android studio.

The programs open up quickly and I use dozens of tabs alongside other apps has no effect on the system whatsoever. After all, it’s from the 5th gen.

SSD / Hard drive / SSHD:

The SSD can cope with the data better than any storage component. It processes data with 7200 RPM that results in fast boot-up and snapping app startups.

On my Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo, 1 Terabyte of data storing space is offered. It’s more than enough for my needs.

Conclusion:

Being a programmer back in the days, having a laptop like Zenbook Pro 14 was a blessing. I still have it in my laptop’s stock but I only use it occasionally.

It was always snappy and to this day, the laptop runs with smoothness.

Maybe because I didn’t overload it with more data.

Whatever the case is, my Pro 14 is worth mentioning as one of the best laptops for gaming and programming.

8. Asus VivoBook Pro 16X: (Best laptop for gaming and graphics designing)

Being a gaming streamer, recording the gameplay is one thing. But the video editing part consumes me.

I need to play each part of my game’s recording and edit it to make it interesting to my audience.

Sometimes I need to make some graphics on my own to add them to my video.

That’s not why I am really good at graphic designing but I get the job done no matter what.

These days I am less involved in designing my graphics because I hired a designer to get this done for me.

Either way, the blazing laptop is always needed. In my collection, the Asus VivoBook Pro 16X is dedicated to this job.

I use it on my own for designing if my employee is there for the job. Else, he’s in charge of this laptop.

Regardless, I ran some performance tests on the VivoBook Pro 16X alongside my experience.

A cruised-up data processing is all I can say about this 1 TB SSD.

It stores my data persistently and makes the laptop’s speed snappy.

RAM / ROM:

graphics designing always involves multitasking. A 32Gb RAM on this laptop makes it divine because the screen never blinks.

Usually, a 16Gb memory can work but if you the flaming fast data processing, a 32Gb is worth embracing.

conclusion:

Not putting the Asus VivoBook Pro 16X on my priorities.

However, it can do miracles for people who are done with their old laptops and do for me.

The aesthetics are ergonomic with a gaming taste.

The hardware configurations promise smoothness.
